Mathias Kleinhans Obituary

Mathias Kleinhans, of Woodhaven, NY passed away on February 2, 2024 at the age of 88. Mathias was born on July 19, 1935 to Josef and Teresa Kleinhans in Hungry. He worked for many years as a doorman in Manhattan where he happily assisted residents. In 1968 he met Anne Kepper in New York City. Mathias and Anne went on to have their daughter Heidi. In 2000 he retired and spent his time with his grandsons being the best Opa at the spielplatz, spoiling them with schokolade. He loved meeting with friends at the senior center, dancing, listening to music, and cheering on the Mets. Mathias was predeceased by his parents and brother Hans. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Anne, his daughter Heidi Davis and her husband Dan of Montvale, NJ, his grandchildren Ryan and Alex, and his nephew Michael Kepper and his wife Laura. Memorial Services will be held at Schwille Funeral Home in Glendale, NY on February 4. Visitation is from 2 pm to 6 pm. Funeral Mass to be offered February 5 at 9:30 am, at Sacred Heart Church in Glendale, NY with entombment following at Mt. Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Flushing, NY.
